In-House Liquid Flow Calibration Bench

Velomac developed an in-house liquid-flow bench that compares a controlled displacement volume with measured liquid mass, supporting accumulated and instantaneous flow review through two connected reference methods.

Working medium

Liquid

Reference method

Volume + mass

Flow review

Accumulated + instantaneous

Operation

In-house

Why Velomac Built It

Keep liquid verification close to development and configuration

Two connected references

Displaced volume and measured mass provide a cross-check.

Configured operating points

Travel and retraction speed establish the required liquid condition.

In-house data review

Meter output can be reviewed near manufacturing and setup work.

Dual-Reference Principle

One displacement tube, one mass reference

The telescopic tube establishes reference volume V. The electronic scale records discharged mass m. The connected values can be used to review density through ρ = m / V.

Reference relationship

ρ = m / V

Calibration Flow

From meter setup to result review

The exact points are configured for the meter and liquid under review.

  1. 1. Meter setup

Install the meter and confirm the liquid and connection.

  2. 2. Set the point

Control displacement travel and retraction speed.

  3. 3. Discharge liquid

Move the reference volume through the meter.

  4. 4. Record references

Capture displaced volume, mass and meter output.

  5. 5. Review result

    Compare accumulated and instantaneous flow.

System Support

What the bench can review

Accumulated flow

Compare totalized meter output with the reference discharge.

Instantaneous flow

Relate meter output to the controlled retraction speed.

Reference density

Use measured mass and displaced volume as connected values.

Configured points

Review minimum, normal and maximum flow where the bench setup permits.

Before a Verification Review

Send the meter and operating details

  • Liquid and expected density or composition
  • Meter type, pipe size and connection
  • Minimum, normal and maximum flow
  • Pressure and temperature
  • Power supply and output signal
  • Required test points and report expectation
